On November 21st, 2023, OLEAF4VALUE participated in the Circular Bioeconomy Forum that took place in Seville, Spain. The networking event was organised by the General Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia in collaboration with the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in Seville, and the Andalusian Institute for Agricultural, Fisheries, Food and Organic Production Research and Training (IFAPA).

The event served as a meeting point for promoting an exchange of experiences between administrations, companies, associations and project managers in the field of circular bioeconomy. Some of the topics addressed during the forum were:

  • Bioeconomy policies and strategies in different regions.

  • Weaknesses, threats, strengths and opportunities established by this model.
  • Success stories and practices developed.

  • Analysis of markets and business and consumer models.
  • Bioproducts and biomass resources generated by the different sectors.

  • Bioeconomy and resilience to environmental and climate challenges.

The OLEAF4VALUE project was represented by Natac (Project Coordinator) and Innovarum (D&C Coordinator) during the meeting. Many interesting roundtable discussions took place during the day regarding policy actions and strategies and territorial governance, for example.

Other EU projects such as MainstreamBIO and BioRural  were present and the OLEAF4VALUE partners got the chance to interact and foster the  exchange of key results obtained to date.
